Life is like a mirror. If you smile, it returns you your image.

Hi,
It’s a longer newsletter today than the other Sundays, because I am informing you of the launch of my project “Bring beauty to our elders” through the ZESTE crowdfunding platform of the Banque La NEF.
This project is an extension of that of 365 Vagues d’Amour carried out in 2016 with one painting per day for a year in order to share art with closed establishments using connected screens. The distress of nursing home residents as it was revealed during the health crisis and to which I was particularly sensitive given my personal experience showed me the urgency of this project. It consists of bringing them a moment of comfort by broadcasting weekly videos integrating the process of creating my paintings against a background of classical music, by making paintings available to hang in the common areas, and by exhibitions and workshops allowing me to go myself to meet these residents.
Below is one of the feedback from the psychomotor therapist at the nursing home in Saint-Malo where the video sequences are currently being broadcasted: “The videos are very appreciated, both by residents and by nursing staff. They bring an atmosphere of calm and serenity in the living room and thus make it possible to lower negative emotions such as anxiety or anger. We see that people who wander can sit down to watch videos and listen to music, that people who do not watch television usually watch it when the Artwave videos are broadcast, and that people making screams of appeal to obtain a presence are no longer screaming… “
I let you discover this project for some, my journey for others, and at your own pace with the following link: https://www.zeste.coop/fr/anne-artwave.
I thank all those who made it possible to launch this campaign and in advance all those who will bring their brushstroke.
You can see it in the creative process of my paintings, all of them, from the smallest to the largest stroke have their raison d’être to achieve and give meaning to the canvas 🙂
I finish with the artwork of the week: “Miroir du Causse”.
There is a place where I particularly like to lose my footsteps, it is the limestone slabs of the Causse.
On these expanses of gray or milky rock, we can discover the mirrors of the sky carved into the rock so long ago that we no longer know very well whether it is men or God … We name them for certain lakes of Saint Namphaise named after a valiant warrior of Charlemagne, who settled as a monk in the Lot and to whom the existence of many lakes is attributed in the Quissac region (I specify … small extent of water in the batch :)).
It is in November or in spring when their water levels are at their highest that they offer us in the clarity of the Lot skies, an image of paradise 🙂
Good Sunday to all,
Yours truly
Anne Turlais
