A tree that grows in a cave does not bear fruit.
— Khalil Gibran
Hi everyone,
This shrub, for sure, grew in the open air!
It is full of ruby or orange fruits, each as beautiful as the next. The Greek etymology of its name, rose hip, means “Rose of dogs” because of the virtues of its roots to treat rabies.
But it is good from head to toe, because its fruits contain vitamin C in a bar. A handful of rose hips in 2 liters of water, boil, strain, add a spoonful of honey and the red of these berries, drink of life will flow through your veins!
If you are lucky enough to taste the jam of these fruits, which some indulge in with patience, then you will appreciate great nectar!
There you have it, this shrub that lights up our hedges in winter is not only good for the eyes, and all this in great discretion 🙂
Happy Christmas preparations to all of you,
Yours truly,
Anne Turlais
